1995        Thyssen Aufzuege GmbH and Zhongshan Elevator Industrial Company form a joint-venture to build an elevator & escalator plant in the name of Guangdong Thyssen Elevator Co., Ltd. ("GTE"). Two sales branches are subsequently set up in Guangzhou and Chongqing under GTE. 1995        Thyssen Aufzuege GmbH, as the sole shareholder, sets up Thyssen Elevators & Escalators (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. ("TEES"), registered in Waigaoqiao Free-bonded Zone, Shanghai. 1996         Beijing Branch is founded. 1999         Thyssen and Krupp merge to form ThyssenKrupp AG. Thereby Thyssen elevators and escalators products hold the brand name ThyssenKrupp Elevator. 2000        "GTE"&"TEES" are restructured into the name of Thyssen Elevators Co., Ltd., of which Shanghai Branch and Beijing Branch are under the leadership. 2002        Thyssen Aufzuege GmbH acquires Thyssen Elevators (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., previously invested by ThyssenKrupp Elevator Corporation in USA starting its production in Songjiang. 2003        Shenzhen Branch starts its business operation. 2004        Xi'an Branch is set up.
